In The Shop This Week! - march 4th, 2024

Plate Shoot #2! – This Thursday March 7th, 5pm-7pm (and every 2nd Thursday of the month)

This is for fun and practice, not a competition (but ya got bragging rights for one month)

Everyone must be present for the 5:15 safety briefing

Here’ an outline of the rules and safety briefing . . .

All regular range rules apply, including having watched the safety video and completed the waiver prior to shooting.

Any guns that are holstered MUST remain holstered until they are checked at the loading table. All guns in cases MUST remain cased until checked at the loading table.

You may load magazines at any time.

As you enter the range, you may have your firearm checked at the loading table. This is the only time you should touch your firearm until it is your turn to shoot.

Each shooter needs to take a numbered label. We will use numbers to call shooters.

An RO will call you to the firing line. The RO will also give you the command to load.

Shooters will start in a low ready position with the muzzle pointed toward the berm and parallel to the floor.

At the end of the stage, the RO will ask you to show clear. Drop the hammer and the trigger with the muzzle facing the berm. The cleared firearm should either be holstered or placed back in your bag/pouch.

If you are using an optic, it would be helpful to leave it turned on until the last stage. If your pistol has an external safety, you must use it.

We need to watch muzzle direction and trigger control at all times. If you shoot the wood and knock down plates, that string will not count.

This is a lost brass match. Distance is approx. 10yds. No draw from holster. No mag capacity/limit.

Targets are rubber that fall when hit. Each target set is five targets, but we might add a bottle target stage, TBD.

Beginner or advanced, we have a class for you. One-on-one instruction, but you can take the classes together with spouse, son, daughter, etc. If you take the Intro to Handgun class, you receive a copy of "Shooting Handguns" co-authored by one of our instructors.
